The Gateway can be used to pull and put information onto Twitter.
Useful for Shopwatch & Pubwatch schemes, the Gateway can directly interact Twitter with DMR radios, email, SMS and more.
Receiving tweets to radio
This part of the flow will receive tweets from your Twitter account.
In the “Twitter in” node, first click on the pencil icon next to the “Log in as” field, and you will be asked to authenticate with Twitter.
Log in to your Twitter account, and the Gateway will attach this node to your account.
In the “Search” field you can choose whether to pull in from twitter the following
- All public tweets from a specific user or users (seperate with commas)
- The tweets of who you follow
- The tweets of specific users
- Your direct messages
In the “for” field you can specify the @identities and #tags you wish to listen for.
The tweet will then be passed to the radio group or users you specify in the “text-out” node.
Sending DMR texts to Twitter
he second half of this flow is for using DMR text messages to post new tweets.
The “text-in” node will receive a text and pass it into the “sentiment” node.
The sentiment node will check the text input, and using the AFINN-111 sentiment standard, will give the text message a score between -5 and 5.
- If the score is below 0, then the text contains negative words which you may not wish posted to Twitter.
- If the score is above 0, then the message will be acceptable to post.
The “switch” node for this flow has been set so that if the sentiment.score is higher than 0 we will pass the message to output one, leading to the “Twitter-out” node.
If the score equals 0, or is less, then the message will be passed to an email address.
You can change where the message goes, for example, if you need the unwanted message to go to a DMR radio you will need to insert a “text-out” node attached to the second output.
The “Twitter-out” node, as above, needs to be linked to your Twitter account in the same way the “Twitter-in” node is done.
